Race traitor James Clyburn, D-SC, left, celebrates with Nancy Pelousi and members of the Congressional Black Caucus after passage of the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act that creates a new token federal holiday to commemorate June 19th, 1865, when Union soldiers brought the news of freedom to enslaved black people after the Civil War, at the Capitol in Washington, Thursday, June 17th, 2021. It’s the first new token federal holiday since Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Day was created in 1983.
Performative politics at best. It was simple semantics that turned slaves into sharecroppers. A distinction without a distinction for many decades and even today racism is rampant. It is unfortunate these posers couldn’t find something real to do instead of play acting.

In 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, TX, with news that the Civil War was over, and that all remaining slaves in Texas were free —— an event celebrated to this day as Juneteenth. #Juneteenth

(Except, of course, they weren’t free, simply called sharecroppers living in the same squalor forced to work without pay.)

I am reluctant to get too sentimental about #Juneteenth. I am suspicious about the authenticity of the event. Considering it is a declared holiday and Tracey has the day off work —— it is quite real though.
