In 1886, the Benz Patent-Motorwagen, the first successful petrol-driven motorcar, built by German engineer, Karl Friedrich Benz (Karl Friedrich Michael Vaillant), was granted a patent (No. 37435). It’s widely regarded as the world’s first motor car. #KarlBenz
