In 1861, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (Franz August Karl Albert Emanuel) died of typhoid fever (aged 42). He was the husband of Queen Victoria, who was so devastated by his passing that she wore black for the rest of her life. The Royal Albert Hall was named in his honor. #PrinceAlbert
