Went to First Tremont Bank and got the #Blazer title out of the safe deposit box. Glad it was there because I wasn’t really too sure since I haven’t seen the darn thing in years. I spent about a half-hour cleaning stuff out of the poor old Blazer. I was surprised at the amount of stuff I found in the glove box, door pockets, etc. I even found Louie’s long lost dog leash in a pocket behind the driver’s seat. I want Tracey to take a look to make sure I didn’t miss anything but I think I got all our junk out of there.

Still more phone tag yesterday between me, #CEFCU and #Uftring. Even something as simple as closing a car loan can get complicated beyond comprehension. Tracey and I finally got the papers signed around 1:30 p.m. and then a quick lunch at Culver’s before I had to get her back to work.

The plans for today include taking Mom to #Proctor for tests and then picking up our new car in the early afternoon. I sure hope it all comes off without a hitch!

Our trip to #Proctor hospital went pretty well yesterday. The sonogram technician said it appears Mom’s vein surgery is a success and has healed well.

A couple things irked us though. They told us Mom’s appointment was for 10:30 a.m. So being punctual people, we arrived a half-hour early. The registration lady said we were the 11:00 appointment and it frosted us to find out they had actually told us 10:30 so we would be there in time.

Now I realize the hospital’s time is more precious than gold but I don’t appreciate ending up an hour early because they are too pompous to tell us the actual time of scheduled tests.

Mom’s oxygen is limited and we don’t need to arrive an hour early because they already “figure in an appropriate early arrival time”. Jerks.

The other thing is that when we did arrive at the waiting room there was nobody there. Just a telephone on the counter to “check in” with. So their time is important but we aren’t even important enough to have somebody in the reception area to help patients? And yet they will likely charge several hundred dollars for the tests?

And now to explain this monstrosity that was hanging on the wall in the waiting room. I guess it is supposed to be art but Mom says it made her feel sick to look at it. She said it looked like something that famous painting elephant might have done. I said I thought it was elephant poo flung on a canvas by a monkey. Incredibly there is a brass plaque about some grand Who-Ha doctor who donated this ugly thing. How strange to accost sick or injured people in a waiting room with this huge disgusting “art”.

I survived the sleep study. Barely.

Fortunately the technician, Ann, was a very good sort and gave me absolutely no reason to be grouchy. Trying to sleep with all those wires attached was another story altogether.

Evidently I “passed” the test —— meaning it verified what I already knew. I have sleep apnea. Several thousand dollars later and an entirely wasted and almost sleepless night will hopefully convince Medicare.

I’m going to bed. I will get the Blog sorted after I get some REAL sleep.
