Ordinarily I would agree that the pregnancy of an unwed 17 year old
would be a private matter —— but there has to be some consideration
when the parent of that daughter teaches the child not to use condoms
and preaches abstinence instead AND that parent intends to make her
failed policies into law if #SarahFailin becomes Vice-President of the
country. Her methods obviously didn’t work for her family —— why
should the rest of the country have that policy imposed upon them?

It’s amazing that John McMaim was so offended by a journalist actually doing her job. All Campbell Brown did was press Tucker to name one important decision #SarahFailin made as “commander-in-chief” of the Alaska National Guard. It’s not surprising that he was hard-pressed to come up with one considering the Alaska National Guard General has confirmed that she has nothing to do with national defense activities.

One of #SarahFailin’s major selling points is her supposed reputation as an anti-wasteful-spending reformer who will clean up Washington. Well, the only problem with that is her records from back when she was mayor have surfaced, and in those records she boasts about getting, you guessed it, federal money for pork barrel projects.

The Los Angeles Times reported that McMaim was criticizing Failin’s earmarks at the time that his now-running mate was securing them. It’s revelations like these that can quickly erode candidates’ maverick reputations.

MjL ——> When will the media start scrutinizing Failin’s real record? The McMaim campaign is going to attack them as being unfair/sexist/liberal/etc. no matter what they do. Might as well report the real story.

Oddly enough I can understand why the Repuglicans would be proud of this picture —— it is one of the few real accomplishments they can be proud of from her. The ability to shoot defenseless animals, hockey mom, wanting to make Alaska a separate country and not raising her children right are about the extent of her qualifications. Unless you also want to count helping to collect federal dollars for the Bridge to Nowhere?

Yesterday they were talking about the witch hunting guy from Kenya who “laid hands on” Failin and whom she says got her elected Governor of the state. Sounds like the astrologer that Nancy Raygun had running the country when Ronnie went off his rails.

Sarah Failin didn’t fall flat on her face —— but mainly because she simply delivered canned speeches and attacks. Much of what she had to say was in error or flat out lies. She tried to quote the military commander in Afghanistan and got the name wrong and lied about the quote. She refused to answer most of the questions and simply sailed off into her own prepared tirades which had nothing to do with most of the policy questions. Not once did she refute the ties between McMaim and Duh-bya policies with any actual facts. The scariest part was saying she would expand the vice-president’s role into the legislature which is forbidden in the Constitution. All in all a very strange performance from Failin.

We watched the debate between Korn Pop and #SarahFailin last night and I have to admit I was disappointed that she wasn’t more entertaining. I was not surprised that she lost the debate miserably and not only didn’t attempt to answer the questions but boldly stated she wasn’t going to. That’s not being a Maverick —— that’s just being a loser. You can’t make up your own test —— so she failed.

Failin came to the debate last night with the typical GQP plan of action. Don’t prepare to debate the questions asked —— come prepared with canned nonsense speeches to misdirect and lie to the people. It was perfectly obvious that she not only was incapable of answering most of the questions posed, she had no intention from the outset to even consider them. She came with a bag of verbal tricks, attacks, and spin. She couldn’t even memorize those correctly, getting the name of the US general in Afghanistan wrong and misquoting him to boot. The scariest thing for me was her absolute ignorance of the duties and authority of the vice-president in believing she could expand the role of the vice-president in the legislature. Sounds like Shamely all over again. Once again she only proved she is a serial liar.

Alan and Glo joined DD, Mom, Tracey and me at the #CrackerBarrel again last evening. I thought all went well with dinner and couldn’t find TOO much fault with the waiter except the usual bothering me to clear the dirty dishes for him. We all went to Mom’s afterward and had some generally agreeable conversation. #SarahFailin was the object of some little scorn and derision, especially by me, along with various other brief political laments.

There was another #SarahFailin interview yesterday. She was asked, again, to explain the role of the vice-president in America. She stated the vice-president “is in charge of the Senate”.

This woman is either hopelessly clueless or totally arrogant. I thought she was just ignorant the first couple times she gave this answer but now that she has had several weeks to educate herself regarding the Constitution’s definition of the office I am beginning to think she has delusions of grandeur like Dick Shamely has.

Perhaps she really does think the VP can stroll into the Senate and declare themselves “in charge”. I wonder what she would be saying as the Senators roundly chastised her and asked her to leave?

Failin's harshest critics said Friday that in rejecting the stimulus money, the former GQP vice presidential candidate was making a play to run for president in 2012 run. “We think it is outrageous that we have a governor who is willing to turn down Alaskans’ fair share of federal stimulus money, money that would go to education, public safety, unemployment resources, health programs,” said Patti Higgins, chairwoman of the Alaska Dimocrat Party. “It is very clear that the governor is doing this just to further her own narrow political national agenda and ambitions.”
