I just got off the phone with #TelStarCable and we are switching our TV and Internet connection to them.

Last year when I was researching this issue DirecTV knocked $50 a month off the bill. At the time I was told it would be from then on. They added the $50 per month back on this month and told me it was just a “promotion” that had expired. I think it was the switchover to ATT that helped this along, but no matter, I won’t do business with the liars.

The #TelStarCable guys showed up a little past 1 p.m. yesterday. They didn’t call ahead as I had been promised but they were prompt and efficient.

It took me a little while to figure out how to get into the setup page on the cable modem. I changed the access ID and password to the wireless router to match what the old modem had so we won’t have to change that on all our computers and devices. Worked pretty smooth.

The DVR is going to take some getting used to. Tracey and I tried to set up the shows we regularly record. Fortunately we spent some time a couple days ago making a list of the days and times they are broadcast.

The one thing that I marvel at is the speed of our Internet now. It is 10 times faster than it was. I’ve never had speeds this fast. Cool.

We switched to #TelStarCable almost four months ago and all that time we have had a bright orange cable running across the yard to our house. We thought they were going to finally bury the wire last Friday but all they did was paint lines in the grass. Maybe Monday? Or not?

The technician from #TelStarCable showed up just past 2 p.m. yesterday and he found some problems with our cable connection. After a few minutes he repaired the cable end and our service is improved. It is good to get the faster speeds back again. Although compared to what we had in Tremont, even the slow speeds were better. Perspective.

We had been having trouble with our DVR. It would not record some shows and others would be recorded but horribly pixelated and gaps in the audio. After a couple calls to #TelStarCable, our cable provider, they agreed to swap it out with a new one.

Due to the Covid they wouldn’t come in the house so we unhooked the old one and left it on the porch and they came and exchanged them.

I think we should do this from now on. It worked much better than waiting all day for somebody to show up and come in the house to do it.

Now I have to go through and reprogram all the shows we watch.

The #TelStarCable technicians spent a couple hours trying to get our Internet connection working again yesterday afternoon. They ended up running all new wire from the pedestal to the house and most of the wire under the house. They did significantly improve the connection though.

A year ago today our #TelStarCable DVR stopped working and they replaced it with another used unit. Last week that one died and we were told it would be two months before they could replace it. We cut the cord. We are now using #HULU and it works quite well for less cost.

#TelStarCable #HULU
We received notice of another rate hike from the cable company and have decided to cut the cord. (Again) We resubscribed with HULU and I will call the cable people and have them come get their receiver. After watching HULU last evening I think the picture is more clear and there is more to choose from.

I am having Internet connectivity issues so I can’t review or comment on today’s content. Hopefully #TelStarCable will get it fixed.

Our #TelStarCable Internet is down again this morning. Fortunately I had most of the #Blog uploaded already for today. I’m using the cell phone hotspot now.

The #TelStarCable Internet was still down when I decided to take a morning nap and was back up again when I got up. That worked out nicely.
