I had another roofer show up yesterday to give me an estimate. #TremontRoofing actually brought a ladder and climbed up on the roof to see what was there. I think I got a better estimate because he did and the price was better too. One thing I really liked about this guy was that he brought a bunch of documentation as far as his license, bonding, insurance and all kinds of brochures and statements regarding product and warranty. Most important to me he provided a written estimate which only needs a signature to become the working contract. It’s nice to have the price in writing, something the others have been reluctant to do. I think I will go with this one. I will wait until after I have negotiated with my doctor tomorrow before going to the bank to wrangle financing. It’s always something.

The work continued on the roof yesterday. #TremontRoofing finished the structural repairs and had most of the west side of the roof shingled before finishing up for the day. They say the job will be finished by the end of today. This is good news because I am really tired of hearing all the banging and thumping. We did lose one ceiling light cover in the process. It evidently wasn’t screwed on tight enough and the vibrations knocked it loose. It shattered on the hallway floor.

I managed to get the front yard mowed after they left. It is going to be a long while before we finally catch up with all the grass cutting and weeds that we let go before and during our vacation.

I started yesterday with a short visit to the #RetireeBreakfast. I cut it short to get home for an appointment with #TremontRoofing to check out some damaged shingles or flashing.

It was raining when I got home and shortly after I got a call to reschedule because they won’t work in the rain. So now we wait until Monday.

The guy from #TremontRoofing just left. He was on the roof less than 10 minutes and hammered down the loose flashing and shingle. Remember that name ——
