I stayed home yesterday because Noah was expecting a package from #UPS. I don’t know why I bothered because they didn’t get here until after 3 p.m. and then the guy just threw it on the porch without knocking or ringing the bell.

I chauffeured Tracey again today. It’s the least I can do since she is working such long hours and I mostly nap in the sun.

The name doesn’t ring any bells but I would probably know him if I saw him. My favorite #UPS guy used to give #JakeLegel dog biscuits and scratch his ears. We always knew when the UPS truck was coming because Jake would rush to the door all excited. And if we weren’t home he would leave a biscuit for Jake on top of the package at the door. That fellow retired and we all missed him, especially Jake —— and I never knew his name.

I missed the #UPS delivery of my #Insulin yesterday and it was late afternoon before I looked on the tracking site to see where they were. It said it had been delivered already but it wasn’t out in front of the door where they usually leave it.

Finally I saw where the delivery person had said “side door” on the delivery notes. Good thing I had looked at the tracking page or it may have been days before we found it back there. We just don’t hardly ever use that door.

We took another trip to Pekin and this time the #UPS Store was open so finally got the porch camera returned to Amazon. We picked up some #Avanti for supper on the way home. Again.

UPS drivers and package sorters overwhelmingly approved a new five-year contract on Tuesday, averting a strike that threatened to put the brakes on deliveries. The 340,000 Teamster rank-and-file members, who started voted electronically Aug. 3rd, approved the deal by 86.3%. It is the largest margin ever for a contract at UPS, the union announced Tuesday. Existing part-time workers will make a minimum of $21 an hour, while full-time workers will average $49 an hour.
Huge two-tier wage gap —— they will regret this.

The crash of a UPS plane in Louisville, KY, has disrupted the shipper’s air cargo headquarters, delaying some deliveries. UPS Worldport halted processing of packages on Tuesday night after the crash. The money-back guarantee “is suspended for all packages either shipped from or delivered to the United States until further notice,” UPS said.
