In 1885, Ulysses S. Grant (Hiram Ulysses Grant), the 18th president of the United States, died in Mount McGregor, NY, at age 63. (Grant was accepted to the United States Military Academy at West Point and was enlisted under the name “U. S. Grant”. Since the initials “U.S.” also stood for “Uncle Sam”, he became known among army colleagues as “Sam”.) #UlyssesGrant
