In 1878, Karl Friedrich Benz (Karl Friedrich Michael Vaillant) filed a patent on the first two-stroke stationary gasoline engine, which was granted in 1879. Benz had so much commercial success with this engine he was able to devote more time creating a lightweight car powered by a gasoline engine. #CarlBenz |
