Nine thousand silhouettes were stenciled on a Normandy beach as a tribute to those who died. Artists Jamie Wardley and Andy Moss from Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, came up with the idea of The Fallen to mark the International Day of Peace, which was Sept. 21st. Together with a team of volunteers they traveled to France to create thousands of stenciled drawings in the sand at Arromanches to represent the civilians, German forces and Allies who died during the World War Two invasion. |
