Friendly Combat Ant?

I keep reading about this special designation of people called �Enemy Combat Ant� —— they are neither soldiers of a sovereign army nor are they treated as civil criminals. Just some weird designation of sub-humans I guess who are treated as insects. So what would it take to be a �Friendly Combat Ant�? I suppose that would be the CIA types who scoop up foreigners and haul them to Gitmo (or render* them to who knows where?)

I get this mental image of people being boiled down to a gluey substance like we do livestock when they are rendered. An odd verb form of rendition?
