I was hoping to hear some news about our generator but still no word. We dropped it off at #Fligingers in Morton on Monday to have them take a look at the engine. It has been hard to start and runs very rough —— to the point I hate to even try to use it. We have had several power outages in the last months and I wanted to get it working better for winter.

We started our yesterday morning out with the electric heater blowing full blast in the sun room —— there was some frost in the air! Around 9 a.m. we went to #Fligingers to retrieve our generator but I wasn’t happy with it so I left it there for them to look at again.

It would run real smooth then all of a sudden start stuttering like it was starved for fuel or air. The guy fiddled with the fuel shut-off valve, air flow, etc. but couldn’t get it to stay smooth running. I was glad I had him start if up for me because he finally admitted something wasn’t right and suggested they keep it to have the mechanic look at it again Monday. I just hope that doesn’t drive the cost up, but I need it to run properly.

Yesterday was actually a pretty good day! I went to Morton and picked up our generator at #Fligingers —— it seems to be working pretty good. The choke is still a little touchy and it takes a few minutes to smooth out when you first start it but otherwise seems to do much better now. After I got home with the generator I tinkered with the snow blower a bit until I got it running smooth too and also aired up the tires. So we are ready for the next blizzard which hopefully means since we are ready it won’t happen?
