Tracey and I took a drive into Peoria to the #HometownBuffet for breakfast. It wasn’t too bad but maybe not good enough to drive that far. There’s just something about fake eggs that dampen the all-you-can-eat spirit.

A few days ago we had received an email from Hometown Buffet advertising they would be serving breakfast on New Year’s day so we decided to go yesterday.

They were open early, but they were serving lunch and not breakfast. We should have just left, especially since lunch is more expensive, but we were hungry. Seems weird that they were serving lunch at 8 a.m.?

From there we went to visit with Mom for a little while. While we were there the pulmonary doctor came by and then the hospital doctor. They are all so concerned about her lung problems but none of them will admit that the hospital was the cause of most of her trouble.

Tracey still wanted some pancakes so we stopped at Bob Evan’s in E. Peoria on the way home and had “second breakfast”. So we had lunch in the morning and then breakfast at noon. Why not?

Update 01/18/14: Since this time we have received five (5) coupons for free meals! #HometownBuffet is still in our good book!

You may recall a Blog post a little over a week ago about how we stopped at #HometownBuffet in Peoria to get breakfast on New Year’s day only to discover they were serving early lunch. I wrote an email to them telling them I wasn’t too pleased about this and so did Tracey. Neither of us told the other we had done this. I recently got a letter from the “Area Director” with two coupons for free meals. The next day I received two more with no letter attached. And then Tracey received a letter stating she could get one free meal. (PDF file of letters) I guess occasionally it pays to complain? We got five free meals out of it anyway! We really appreciate when a business makes the attempt to rectify a mistake and so I add this Blog entry to say we feel they have done right by us!

Tracey has an early day today. I just got the coffee on and it is so very dark out there! She has to do this again tomorrow.

Tracey had yesterday off because she is working Saturday. We went to the #GoldenCorral in Peoria yesterday for lunch after running another errand. I was very pleasantly surprised at their buffet. I think we are probably done with #HometownBuffet as the food was much better at Golden Corral.
