I went shopping for groceries yesterday and got caught up in the cranberry crush. There were a lot of people in search of cranberry sauce and other TurkeyDay fixings who don’t normally buy that stuff.
I heard at least three different people ask where the cranberries were. We don’t eat those nasty things either and I really hope there isn’t a cranberry fairy.
The experience was actually not so bad as I thought it might be because the store had scheduled a few more employees than usual so there was actually TWO aisles open instead of the usual one. AND both aisle had baggers instead of —— none.
I took the van to town because it had been a while since it was driven. We have too many old cars with old batteries to keep charged. Eventually Aaron and Ben will be driving and then we probably won’t have enough cars. Can’t win.

I’m with you on that one......I hope there is NOT a cranberry fairy!
I did however get some “tasty treats” last night at Culvers....PICKLES!
However, it did take 8 napkins for 4 of us to eat. I did find that Ruby Tuesday has just the napkins you’re looking for, but for a hefty price!
We have 5 phone numbers counting mine and Dave’s work numbers. I’m not very good with the cell phone. In fact, my dad called last night and asked why he couldn’t reach me on my cell and where did I put it. I honestly didn’t know when he asked. I dug to the bottom of my purse (I’m sure you have some comments about that subject) and low and behold -- 1 cell phone that somehow got turned off. OOPs! In other words, call me on the “land phone” if you want to talk to me. Andy has one for driving purposes, but he doesn’t use his either very often. I’m sure Ashley will have one too in a couple of years.

Hi Tammy —— I was sitting on the edge of my seat with worry —— I was afraid you would reply that you LOVED cranberries! Pickles are bad enough!
Ruby Tuesday is an expensive place —— I used to like their salad bar but not so much since they don’t always have the potato salad I like (and shouldn’t eat!).
Tracey always leaves her cell phone on so I can call it and she can find it by listening for the ring. The Internet is really the only reason we keep Verizon —— otherwise I would drop them like a bowl of cranberries!

Something else we can disagree on Michael, I like pickles and cranberries. I prefer the sauce over the berries, but I like all kinds of pickles and usually eat the pickle spears restaurants like to serve. Ever try a peanut butter and pickle sandwich? Mmmmm, good.

OH MY! I shudder to think of the waste of good peanut butter —— blech! That’s why they say it takes all kinds of people to make the world go around (whoever “they” is). I do like peanut butter and banana on toasted bread —— and I like peanut butter on celery —— but never with pickles. Never pickles with anything.

I could eat cranberries if I had to or to be polite so sit back and relax Mr. Legel! I do like cranberry juice in a bottle.
I just completed 4 feasts with 3, 4, and 5 yr. olds. We had turkey, apple juice, grapes, cheese, apples, carrots and pumpkin pie! Yummy! Oh did I mention that I did this 4 different times! Now I’m warmed up and ready for the real thing on Thursday!
Ruby T’s -- 9.00 for a sandwich, small bowl of vegetable soup, and a handful of french fries that I didn’t even want. But....the napkins were great!

You guys are just grossing me out on purpose! I am your basic meat and taters kind of guy —— although I did once enjoy a bowl of black olives and chocolate pudding.

Black olives and chocolate pudding? It’d be pretty tough to ruin chocolate pudding but that might get close. I’ll have to try it next opportunity that I get. I heard one the other day, grilled cheese with jelly. Next time I have grilled cheese I’ll give that one a shot too. Oh yea, meant to tell you that we like CiCi’s also, not my favorite pizza but I think a pizza buffet is a great idea. I’ve paid more than that for just a salad, it was a good salad for sure but the price seems pretty reasonable to me for all the salad, pizza, brownies, apple crisp and soda I can devour. And I love to mess with them, ya know how they are supposed to welcome you and holler good-bye? And they are not really paid enough to be THAT enthusiastic? Well, when I leave, I turn and holler thanks at them.

The olives and pudding thing happened many moons ago when I was involved with Boy Scouts —— we had a banquet at a buffet and one of the boys handed me a bowl of chocolate pudding and black olives all mixed together and said I didn’t have the guts to eat it.
Well we all know what happened next. It was different but not horrible.
My Mom always made toasted cheese sandwiches with grape jelly and Velveeta —— I was insulted the first time I was given a toasted cheese sandwich without jelly!
Another good combination is bacon & jelly on toast.
I didn’t mind Cici’s —— it was about what one might expect for the price. I would put them at just a little better than Dominos but not as good as Godfathers. I really love Chicago style pizza but haven’t found anyone around here who really piles on the sauce, meat and cheese like they should.

Ok, now you guys are grossing me out! I eat just about anything, but I’ve never heard of your combos. I eat just grilled cheese (on Texas Toast is even better), but Dave dunks his in ketchup. Ketchup and cheese -- his 2 favorites. Now, I’ve put ketchup on french toast before and that’s not that bad. My mom eats hers that way. I’ll have to see if I can stomach any of these new combos.

Ketchup —— now there is an all American food —— people put it on everything. I don’t think I would like it on french toast but I do put a bit on my eggs. Sounds like adventures in food around here and I think a snack might be in order.
