This is in reply to Tammy’s post last night (after I had gone to bed).
I am trying to think of a way to keep these all straight without a bunch of rules. The normal blog is all laid out with subjects and each posting is put under that subject with a date-time stamp. I don’t want to be either normal or routine in this, but I can see where it gets confusing if I just put posts every which way on the page.
So I am going to try to keep posts on similar thoughts together and I am going back to adding the time stamp.
So, if you want to see what Tammy said that I am replying to —— you have to go back to yesterday and look for the only entry with a time stamp.
Hi Tammy, I started carrying a cell phone back in the mid 90s when they looked like a brick (and were as heavy too). I needed one to talk with the union hall from the picket line because some days I never knew if my division was really on strike or on a wildcat.
The union hall would tell me to either get everyone back in to work (which was always hard) or to get everyone out on strike (which was usually very easy —— who really wants to work anyway?)
Things were pretty calm after that and with the exception of car trouble or emergency “We are OUT of milk!” calls I could probably have managed without one.
Since the boys have gotten old enough to be out and about we have decided cell phones are essential.
Noah has never had any bad accidents or anything but there have been a few times when he really needed help. Usually when the old car had problems like the transmission quitting or the power steering died.
Anyway —— I will gladly bend other peoples’ cell phone rules to stay in touch with my family.
Somebody (I think maybe my Mom) sent me a link to the Mickey clock and I liked it. Later I found a web site with others and I decided to find a way to put them on the site.
I started playing with that rather than doing anything meaningful around the house. If you happen to see any other cool clocks out on the Information Highway —— let me know and I will try to steal it!

Were your clocks the reason my computer was cuckooing and chiming around 5 - 6 PM yesterday?

If your browser was on my blog —— Yes. I was “experimenting” with different clocks and didn’t realize the cuckoo clock made all that racket. I have since changed it to a quieter clock! Sorry about that.

Well of course my browser was on your blog, at least one of the windows or tabs usually is. I kinda liked the cuckoo, (thanks for correcting my spelling, I didn’t think that looked right). Sure had us confused for a bit.
I’ve got the sound on my computer up pretty loud most of the time and Sue usually has hers muted so we figured out pretty quick that it was coming from mine, just didn’t know why. Thought maybe I had some spyware or a virus.
I had seen the Mickey clock yesterday morning and then forgot about it. When I noticed the clock down by the comment button and saw that Mickey was no longer there, it dawned on me what was probably going on.

Sounds good to me —— I will put the cuckoo back then. Didn’t mean to cause any grief. I didn’t know it made noise either cause there are no instructions when you STEAL clocks from the Internet.

Whew.....guess it’s a good thing that I don’t have any sound on my computer.
Well, that is going to change since I’ve asked Santa to bring me some speakers for my computer. Any strange noises will be blamed on you now!
That’s exactly why we have 2 cell phones.....Andy is driving! I share mine with Ashley since her wings aren’t as “clipped” as Andy’s wings.
I figure that way I can call and interrogate Ashley whenever I’d like!
During classroom hours, I have my cell phone on vibrate and it’s not in the same room as me. We answer the school’s telephone unless we’re real busy.
However, we have an answering machine so we can hear who the call is from if we can’t get to it. Then we’d run for it I’m sure.
Morton W. (where Dave works) is a little harder to call. “They” (the company I guess) doesn’t like the people in the shop to get phone calls during the day where they have to be paged.
They will take down a message and eventually deliver to them. I don’t ever call Dave unless I really need something. I TELL them that I NEED to talk to Dave NOW. Now, they seem to remember that and page him.
I have been known to be a “little” nasty and say “you may take a message out to him, but I need him to call me within the next 3 mins.” Maybe they finally figured out that it’s quicker and easier to just page him!
Enough rattling on.....I’ve got lessons to plan.
Oh, that moving round clock drives me nuts.....and it follows me!

I’m used to being blamed! And what do you mean it follows you? It should stay in the same place on the page not follow you! And a clock that isn’t moving is stopped and won’t tell time.

That “dizzy go round” clock moves down the page as I scroll down -- or so it appears to do that? I don’t know--you have me second guessing myself now. Oh well!
Ha! Ha! Yes, a clock must move to tell the correct time smarty pants!

Well it is supposed to stay right where it is at while you scroll the page up or down so the clock is always visible. I suppose you could say it moves down the page but it stays where it is at relative to your monitor screen. I will have to look into stopping the “dizzy go round” part.
