A statue built for Iraqi journalist Muntazer al-Zaidi, who hurled his shoes at Duh-bya, is seen in Tikrit, 150 km (95 miles) from Baghdad, January 27th, 2009. An Iraqi town has unveiled a giant monument of a shoe in honour of the journalist who threw his footwear at Duh-bya. The letters on the sign reads Muntazer is fasting until the sword breaks his fast with blood, silent until our mouths speak the truth. Picture taken January 27th, 2009.
This little graphic pretty well sums up the entire thought process of the GQP party. It was fairly clear this was the case when they were in the majority and absolutely undeniable now that they are in the minority. They whine and pule about bi-partisan this and that, but never vote for anything regardless unless it is every bit what they want. If there is anything in a piece of legislation that favors the common citizen over the filthy rich you can forget about it.

Ben came home from town last evening with a 32-inch flat screen LCD TV screen! He has been talking about hooking one up to his computer for some time now. The first attempt at hooking it up to his computer was not at all satisfying. He used S-video connections and the screen was all fuzzy and blurry.
So we rummaged around in our cable drawer but could not find what we needed. We have VGA and DVI cables but no HDMI. The computer has VGA and DVI while the TV has HDMI.
He finally went back to town and found a new conversion cable at Wal-mart to hook it all up. It is pretty cool! I need to get a picture of it to show you just how big it is in relation to his computer desk - it seems huge!
He was playing a video game on it when I went to bed last night and the game characters were almost real life size.
