Walgreens has pulled an Obummer version of the Chia Pet from its stores, and the decision leaves about 200,000 of the pottery plant kits in a West Side Chicago warehouse. Chia founder Joseph Pedott -- a Chicago native whose San Francisco-based Joseph Enterprises provides local jobs for the disabled -- said he was inspired to create the Obummer head as a show of patriotism. The $19.99 Chia Obummer, which sprouts foliage in the space where hair would be, is still available at www.chiaobama.com

I am up way too early this morning. Tracey has to open the clinic today so will be leaving at 4:30 a.m. She will also be closing the clinic and won’t be home until after 9 p.m. Quite a long day for her so the least I could do was get up and get the coffee going.


We had a fun trip to Bloomington yesterday to drop Aaron’s class ring off to be repaired. The ride home was a bit different though. I had changed the setting on my GPS to avoid highways and the thing counts US 150 and Route 9 as highways —— so we took every other road weaving our way through Bloomington until we finally crossed Route 9 and made our way home.

I have to admit my butt was a bit numb after the ride so I know we need to do it more often to develop some posterior calluses.
