#HearingAid I mentioned last week the conflict with my co-pay for the visits to have my ears checked. I finally got a straight answer from the insurance people as the office lady insisted they were owed $40 because they are a “specialty” practice.
The insurance lady agreed that the ear doctor is indeed a “specialty” doctor, but since I saw the physician’s assistant and not the doctor they aren’t going to pay full price and I don’t have to pay the full co-pay. Just $20.
A couple calls later and the doctor office finally agreed with me on Friday and they are going to reimburse the extra $40 they had charged for the two visits (so far).
The office lady said I was the first person to ever make them aware of this and that she had “learned something”. I don’t know what else she may have learned but she learned I don’t blindly pay bills without getting answers.
